The Power of Music
Ever wonder as to why a certain song means something to you? What makes music such a powerful way to make us feel emotions? Is it the melody, rhythm or lyrics?
As we all know, listening to music is something that the majority of people love to do. To some people, music is a way for them to express themselves and possibly some kind of therapy for the soul. The lyrics of a song might have a different meaning to each person, depending on their own personal experience.
Last night while I was watching Russell Howards Good News show, he showed us a clip about an old man at a nursing home called Henry Dryer, a 92 year old with Dementia. He never really talks to anyone and is practically mute. However one day, somebody gave him an iPod and he was able to listen to one of his favorite singers from back in the day. As he listening to the music, he lights up, starts to sing, dance.
This is generally the cutest and at the same time the most touching thing I’ve ever seen. Its such a beautiful thing to watch how somebody responds to music like this and being able to witness the incredible soul healing power of music.
Heres a short clip from Henry:

End Of Year Art Exhibition
So last night, my college hosted the opening night of our end of year exhibition for us art and design foundation students. This week long exhibition open to the public, is currently showcasing our best work we did throughout the entire year in our various classes such as photography, drawing, graphic design, painting, 3D design, film, printmaking and illustration.
And as for our post graduation plans, some of us going to continue our study in the art/deisgn field in various areas such as industrial design, film, photography, fashion, architecture and goldsmith. Best of luck to my fellow foundation diploma graduates!
Photography Final Project
This is my end of year final project for my photography class. I decided to do a portrait series with three models each wearing blue lipstick. The aim of my concept was to draw attention to the vibrant color of the lips and thus creating a contrast between the color blue and the flesh ton of the models.
I remember Paris like it was yesterday.
Lostprophets:Weapons, and the garage session tracks.
So today, Welsh rockers Lostprophets have released their 5th studio album Weapons. The overall tone of this album showcases the bands more softer and melancholic side, like the songs on their previous albums Liberation Transmission and The Betrayed. However, tracks like “We bring an Arsenal” and “Better off dead” in contrast have rather an anthem like and aggressive feel.
On the deluxe version of the album, several tracks were added from a recording session the band did back in 2007 with John Felmann that was originally meant to go on the betrayed album. These tracks include, “the dead” and “save yourself.”
To think that these tracks didn’t make on the main album and that they were almost “thrown out” completely is such a shame! I feel like there is something missing on this Album and I believe that these tracks would have been a perfect addition to the main album.
